MLK Jr. Unity March & Celebration is Monday, January 19, 2026

Join us! The NAACP Camden County Branch is hosting the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity March & Celebration on Monday, January 19, 2026.

The unity march will start at 10am at Kingsland Lions Park (583 S. Grove Blvd, Kingsland, GA) and end at First African Missionary Baptist Church (495 N. Lee Street, Kingsland, GA) for a program in the sanctuary. The program in the sanctuary is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am.

The keynote speaker is Camden native, Dr. Mack H. Bullard, Superintendent of Twiggs County Schools.

Everyone in the community is welcome to participate including individuals, families, organizations, and churches. The purpose is to bring the community together in honor of Dr. King’s legacy of civil justice, racial equity, peace, and unity. Let’s create Dr. King’s beloved community here in Camden!

Organizations, churches, or large groups who wish to participate with a vehicle or float are asked, if possible, to notify the NAACP branch by completing this brief form. This is not mandatory but will help us anticipate how many vehicles and participants to expect.

Individuals and families who plan to join the march on foot or in golf carts are welcome to attend without giving notice.

Organizations participating with a vehicle or float are invited to line up at Kingsland Lions Park at 9:00 am. Marchers on foot are asked to assemble at the park by 9:45 am.

Outstanding local businesses will be set up at First African Missionary Baptist Church to offer food and drink for purchase.

In the event of inclement weather, the Unity March may be canceled but the program will proceed as planned at First African Missionary Baptist Church.

The Branch gratefully acknowledges the King Free Foundation for their esteemed legacy of leading and supporting this event.

The MLK Jr. Unity March will begin at Kingsland Lions Park, proceeding north on South Grove Boulevard, west on Route 40, and north on Hwy 17/North Lee Street to First African Missionary Baptist Church.
