NAACP Camden Visits Schools for Black History Month

At Large Member Heather Bryant read books about Black history to elementary school students across several grade levels.

In commemoration of Black History Month, members of the NAACP Camden Branch Executive Committee visited Kingsland Elementary School and David L. Rainer Elementary School to read and discuss books about African American history and culture with students. The Branch is limited in the photos to be shared out of consideration of student privacy, but very much appreciates the children’s enthusiasm, attention, and many questions. We thank the volunteers who donated their time for this effort: Education Committee Chair Sharmaine Anderson, At Large Member Heather Bryant, Assistant Secretary Sonya Walker, and 1st Vice President Kevin Walker. We also thank the school administrators and teachers who welcomed them.

Education Committee Chair Sharmaine Anderson organized volunteers across schools to read and discuss books about African American history to students for Black History Month and participated in multiple school visits.
