Let's Celebrate! Juneteenth Jubilee is Saturday, June 17

 


NAACP Camden County Branch and the Ralph J. Bunche Camden County Training School Alumni Association are sponsoring a Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 11am-5pm at Cornelia Jackson Memorial Park (201 15th St, Woodbine, GA). Seating may be limited, so attendees are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs for their comfort.


The theme of the event is “Black History Matters.”


Sponsors include Row House Publishing and Wheat Penny Press


Join us to celebrate Juneteenth and uplift Camden County's local history! The event will include:

  • Free food from 12pm-1pm
  • Free books about African American history and culture for children of all ages and adults
  • The historic RJC/CCTS Shrine will be open for visitors to meet and learn from alumni
  • Learn about the history of Juneteenth
  • Raffle prizes - 1st prize is a grill (value $400), 2nd prize is a $250 cash gift card, plus additional prizes
  • Live entertainment

Also, The Freedom and Justice Coalition is hosting the 4th Annual Juneteenth Festival on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 11am-5pm at St Marys Howard Gilman Waterfront Park (100 W St Marys St, St Marys, GA).
